Tutors of the Mentoring Programme for Young Producers

Asmaa Samir
Asmaa is a Radio presenter, director, dubbing and voice over artist. She is also a Mass Communication professor at El Ahram University. Asmaa has contributed to the training of the group since September 2019, where she took part in working on the texts since the beginning of writing, to modify and develop them for the radio medium, and she also contributed to the process of recording the texts in the studio last December.

Abeer Suleiman

Kamal Kan
Kamal is a British writer, who took part in tutoring the group at the start of the project in June 2019. Kamal believes that the experience was rich and that he was impressed by the talents that were in the project. He hopes to see the final result of those projects presented by the participants, as many of the ideas he listened to were wonderful.

Tomas Sóldan
Tomáš is one of the project’s tutors in the second phase in November 2019. He is one of the directors of the Czech Radio (since 2008), and directed theatre performances in Spain, Hungary, etc. He is one of tne of the founders of DEPO’G Theatre, member of Masakr Elsinor Independent Theatre. He has many creative collaborations with theater and artistic institutions in Poland, Czech Republic and Latvia.

Stephen Tiller
Stephen studied English Language and Literature at Newcastle University and then took a teaching qualification at the Education Department there. He taught in Secondary and Further Education in London for three years before being accepted into the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art as an acting student. He was principally an actor for over 15 years but began to write, direct and produce his own work until in 2003 he started receiving funding from Arts Council England to tour both his theatre and, more recently, opera work. He has continued to facilitate workshops for students and actors since the early 90’s, in the UK as well as in many parts of the world, including Japan, Uganda, Serbia, Austria, Lebanon and Palestine.

Stefan Escreet
Stefan is a radio producer, theatre director and actor based in the North of the UK. He has produced many dramas for BBC Radio and directed theatre production all over the country. His work specialises in the development of new writing and the fusing of audio and theatre in performance.

Michael Chappell
Michael is a Media Studies teacher at secondary school in the UK. He is the creator and curator of DWS Audio, a podcasting service for young people. Michael has also written for a number of BBC television programmes in the UK.
